How it works
Tell us about your week
How many jobs you can actually fit in, what a typical job is worth, and where your last ten customers came from. That is enough to start.
Get one page in plain English
Three goals, the few things worth doing, the things to stop doing, and the hours each one takes. No jargon and no 40-slide deck.
Start with a real conversation
No forms and no sales sequence. Call, text or email; you'll talk to a senior strategist.
If you run a one-person trades or home-service business, you already have three jobs: the work, the admin and the selling. Most marketing advice is written for companies with a marketing department, so it asks for time and money you don't have. MyMarketing.ca does the opposite. We write a plan short enough to stick on the fridge, built around the hours you really have.
Why solo owners need a different kind of plan
A solo owner's plan has to fit around full days on the tools, not the other way round. The real limit is not money or ideas; it is the two or three hours a week left after the jobs and the invoices.
That changes what a good plan looks like:
- Fewer channels, done properly. A complete Google profile and a steady trickle of reviews will usually beat a half-finished presence on six platforms.
- Capacity first. If you can fit 12 jobs a week and you are already booked for 10, you need two good jobs, not two hundred visitors.
- Work that keeps going while you work. A clear website page and a well-kept profile answer questions while you are under a sink or up a ladder.
- Plain words. If you can't explain your plan to your partner in a minute, it is too complicated to follow on a Thursday night.
Our one-page marketing plan is the starting point for most owners. If you would rather do it yourself, the guide to writing your own plan walks you through it step by step.
The four things we help with
Almost everything a one-person business needs fits into four pieces of work. Each has its own page with what is included, how long it takes and what to measure.
- A one-page marketing plan: goals, budget, weekly routine and a stop-doing list.
- Your Google Business Profile: set up properly, kept current, and tied to the area you actually serve.
- A small website that brings calls: five to seven pages that answer a stranger's questions.
- Reviews and quote follow-up: a short routine so happy customers say so and open quotes don't go cold.
The services overview explains which one to start with, based on how busy you are today.
A two-minute check before you spend a dollar
Before any marketing spend, work out how many extra jobs it has to produce to pay for itself. It takes two minutes and saves a lot of regret.
Say your typical job is $450 and, after materials and fuel, about $250 of that is yours. If you are thinking about spending $500 a month on marketing, you need two extra jobs a month just to break even ($500 ÷ $250). If you close about half of the quotes you give, that means roughly four extra enquiries a month.
Now ask: do I have room for those jobs? If your calendar is already full until spring, the spend is wasted. You would do better to raise your prices or tighten your service area. If you have empty days every week, four enquiries a month is a modest and reachable target. Our budget guide for one-person businesses runs this sum for three different trades.
What we are, and what we are not
We are a marketing and business consulting service. We write plans, set up and look after profiles and websites, and coach owners on pricing, follow-up and what to say on the phone. We are not a contractor. We don't install, repair, clean or service anything, and we will never bid against you for a job.
Proof, honestly labelled
Our published results come from heating and cooling companies, which is where the method was built and tested. We present them as results from our HVAC work, not as results for every trade. BCWide.ca saw 3× leads in 90 days. CanroHeat.ca recorded 250% lead growth. Roma Heating & Cooling grew organic traffic by 400% in 12 months.
Those were bigger businesses than most of our readers. What transfers to a one-person shop is the method: one clear page per service, an accurate profile, reviews asked for at the right moment, and numbers checked every month. The results page separates what carries over from what doesn't.
Who is behind MyMarketing.ca
MyMarketing.ca is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. Frequently asked questions
What is MyMarketing.ca?
MyMarketing.ca is a Canadian digital marketing and business consulting service for solo trades and home-service owners. We belong to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, run from Vancouver, BC, with Ali Sedighi, MBA, at the helm.
Do you do the trade work too?
No. We aren't a contractor, so you will never see us installing, repairing, cleaning or servicing a thing. We help one-person businesses get found, get called and get chosen, and we stay out of the work itself.
I am one person. Is this too big for me?
Not necessarily. Many solo owners only need a short written plan and a few hours of setup. The guides on this site are free, and the first 30-minute consultation is free for eligible trades businesses, so you can find out before you spend anything.
How much do your plans cost?
The lowest-priced plan is $1,999 a month, dropping to $1,499 a month if billed yearly, and Canadian clients add GST/HST based on their province (GST and QST in Quebec). Stopping takes 30 days' notice, with no long contract. The pricing page shows how to check whether that makes sense for a business your size.
Will you promise me a number of jobs?
No. Nobody honest can promise that. We can show you the arithmetic behind a plan, results from our HVAC work, and exactly what we will measure each month.
Do you work with owners outside British Columbia?
Yes. We work with solo owners in all 10 provinces and 3 territories, by video call or in person and by phone, text and email. Each region page covers the local seasons, regulators and customer habits that matter.
